Details
The REACH Regulation regulates the registration, evaluation and authorization of substances. However, communication in the supply chain deals with the passing on of information on hazards and risk reduction measures for substances, mixtures and substances in mixtures. According to REACH, the downstream user must pass on information from exposure scenarios of the upstream supplier in the supply chain. The form in which this should take place is not defined. Various associations and the ENES (Exchange Network on Exposure Scenarios) of the ECHA have developed proposals to resolve this issue. The proposals will be presented, discussed and applied during this seminar.
Legal basis on the basis of REACH Regulation 1907/2006
ECHA guidance documents and other sources of information
Communication in the supply chain under REACH
Obligations of the downstream user
Content and structure of exposure scenarios
Exposure scenarios and mixtures
The LCID (Lead Component Identification) method of CEFIC/VCI for determining relevant exposure scenarios
Other methods for the selection of relevant exposure scenarios for hazardous mixtures
Creation of exposure scenarios for hazardous mixtures (consolidation of individual ES)
Inclusion of the information of the exposure scenarios of the substances in the SDS of the mixture
Practical application of the LCID method with exercises and discussion
Employees of downstream users who manufacture mixtures and have to create extended safety data sheets (eSDSs) for these mixtures. The training is aimed at people with previous knowledge of hazardous substances and safety data sheets.
After the training, you will be able to assess and decide which information from the exposure scenarios of the ingredients of mixtures should be passed on and which methods are best suited for this depending on the role in the supply chain. You will get an overview of what other solutions are currently being discussed. A small number of participants (< 10) and exercises ensure that the learning content is conveyed in a well-founded manner. The speaker is a participant in the Exchange Network on Exposure Scenarios (ENES) and will pass on the solutions developed there in a practical way. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance, e.g. for presentation to control authorities.

(Albert Einstein)
In September 2011, he joined KFT as a chemist with a doctorate in the complex areas of REACH and exposure scenarios. Since 2012, he has also been involved in the preparation of safety data sheets and has now been a group leader at KFT for several years, applying the existing rules for the classification and labeling of mixtures in accordance with CLP.
However, the selection and implementation of exposure scenarios for mixtures is a challenge in which he would like to support you.
