Thailand Looking at Hazardous Substances

Thailand’s Department of Industry and Works (DIW) is planning a regulation that will define criteria for substances of very high concern (SVHC). The goal is to capture the SVHC that are on the market in Thailand and publish an overview of them by the middle of this year.

Companies affected by the regulation are to be mandated to create reports (Chemical Risk Assessment: CRA) that evaluate the risks of handling SVHC. The deadlines for submission of the reports are staggered and depend on the quantity of the manufactured or imported substance:

  • >1,000 tons per year: Submission in 2020
  • 100–1,000 tons per year: Submission in 2022
  • 10–100 tons per year: Submission in 2025

Does the regulation affect you? Do you want to make sure that you’re in compliance with the law? Please contact us at any time at reach@kft.de.
