Toxic Chemicals in Everyday Products: Eurobarometer Shows 8 of 10 Respondents Concerned

The citizens of Europe are concerned about the effects of toxic chemicals on the environment and human health. That’s the finding of the latest Eurobarometer survey of 27,000 respondents in 28 EU states (including Great Britain), taken in December 2019. The EU has published a press release on the survey.

According to the survey, a large majority supports the recycling of plastics and considers measures against plastic waste as necessary. They stated that littering should be avoided in the future. Most respondents wanted further information on the contributions they could make.

Virginijus Sinkevičius, EU Commissions for Environment, Oceans, and Fisheries expressed satisfaction with the results and said that the Green Deal agreed upon at the end of last year was a response to the desires of EU citizens.
