Turkey: First KKDIK Seminar on October 27

The Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation (MoEU) has provided information about a seminar on the new Turkish REACH (KKDIK), which will go into effect on December 23. The host of the event in Istanbul is the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products ExportersAssociation (IKMIB). About 200 participants from industry are expected to attend.

The content will focus on new legal requirements, how to implement them, and who the contact persons responsible are. Representatives from the industry see a big challenge in Annex 18 of the Turkish law. The requirements define the qualifications necessary for those who process applications for approval. Training is needed in any case. The CEO of our Turkish partner, CRAD, Melih Babayigit, will hold a training program for experts, who will then train those who are responsible for certification.

Along with the training, the ministry will publish 13 guidelines on its helpdesk. Two documents have already been uploaded, and the remaining should follow by the end of the year. All documents are in Turkish.

For many years, we and our Turkish partner, CRAD, have worked with companies active in Turkey. If you have any questions, please contact us at sds@kft.de.
