GHS Update in Japan: 160 Chemicals Reevaluated

Japan has revised its list of GHS classifications and published it on the website of the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE). Entries for 112 substances have been updated and 48 substances have been newly listed.

In total, the list contains more than 3,370 substances and contains information on the hazard class, the pictogram, the signal words indicating the degree of risk, the hazard and safety information, the reasons for classifying the substances, the CAS numbers, and reference materials.

Companies can use the list as a reference when they create GHS labels or safety data sheets.

Japan acted in accordance with the requirements of Revision 6 of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of classification and labelling of chemicals.
