ECHA Reports Violations of Update Obligations for REACH Registrations

The ECHA has reported 50 companies to the national enforcement authorities of EU member states and issued a press release on the matter. The companies had failed to update their REACH registrations.

The ECHA learned of the issues with the companies while checking the registrations in two campaigns.

In the first review campaign, inspectors examined 148 registrations of substances of very high concern (SVHC). In the second round of inspections, ECHA investigated 541 registrations that were incorrectly classified according to the criteria of the CLP Regulation.

National enforcement authorities are now required to take appropriate action against the companies.
