CLP Regulation: Consultation Phase for Revision Ongoing

On August 9, the EU began public consultation on the revision of the CLP Regulation. Organizations, corporations, and public agencies have until November 15 to offer feedback on planned revisions of the CLP Regulation that are part of the EU’s sustainability strategy. The feedback helps evaluate the effects of the modifications. Plans call for introducing new hazard classes and the related criteria.  

The initial round of feedback took place from May to June, when the EU published the road map. It revealed the large number of information gaps related to the hazards posed by many substances and substance classes.    

Stakeholders from industry expect the first draft legislation in the second quarter of 2022.
