Turkey: Deadline extension for KKDIK registration now official

Turkey’s environment ministry has amended the KKDIK law and thus set new registration deadlines. The Ministry published the corresponding legal text in the Official Gazette on December 23 (in Turkish).

With the amendment to the law, the Turkish government is granting companies exactly the same deadlines for substance registration that have been on the table for several months.

December 31, 2026:

  • For manufactured and/or imported substances in the tonnage range > 1,000 tons/year
  • Likewise for CMR substances (carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic) in the tonnage range > 1 ton/year and
  • for substances in the tonnage range >100 tons/year that are classified as acutely hazardous to water (Acute 1) and long-term hazardous to water (Chronic 1).

December 31, 2028:

  • For manufactured and/or imported substances in the tonnage range 100 – 1,000 tons/year

December 31, 2030:

  • For manufactured and/or imported substances in the tonnage range 1 – 100 tons/year
