New CLP Hazard Classes Available in IUCLID at the End of April

As of April 29, the ECHA will include the new CLP hazard classes in the International Uniform Chemical Information Database (IUCLID). The Chemicals Agency made the announcement in a press release.

The new hazard classes cover:

  • Endocrine disruptors for human health or the environment (ED HH and ED ENV)
  • Persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic, and very persistent and very bioaccumulative products (PBT and vPvB)
  • Persistent, mobile, and toxic and very persistent and very mobile products (PMT and vPvM)

Companies may include the relevant information in their dossiers as of April 29. According to Regulation (EU) 2023/707, they will be granted staggered transitional periods for the implementation of the classification and labeling requirements (see blog post: EU Commission Introduces New CLP Hazard Classes).

The ECHA has announced that it will also update the manuals and the newly introduced chemical database ECHA CHEM with the new input fields. The guidelines will also be updated during the year.
